It's National Sock Day with MeMoi!

December 4th, 2020 is National Sock Day, created in response to No Sock Day (May 8th) and Lost Sock Day (May 9th). Officially sanctioned in 2016, it was created to commemorate two "pair" events - the revival of Rogers and Hammerstein's musical On Your Toes in 1984, and the final Wynonna and Naomi Judd mother-daughter concert at the Murphy Center in 1991.
According to the National Day website: "[National Sock Day] recognizes the rarest of all lasting unities, the marriage of matched socks. When they manage to find each other, wash after wash, dry after to dry, it’s time to celebrate!" (1) Some people purposely mismatch their socks (including your humble author), but for most people, there's a special kind of satisfaction in wearing a perfectly matching pair of socks.
